Happy Valentine's Day: A few of my loves

Friday, February 14, 2014

In honor of what is truly one of my favorite holidays, I want to highlight a few things I love. In no particular order, here are the top 5 things that make my heart sing.

1. I love these two, their relationship with each other and the blessing it is to be their mother.

2. This man. Mmm. He gets me. He puts up with me. He makes me laugh on a daily basis. I adore the way Emily Bronte put it when she said, "I love the ground under his feet, and the air over his head, and everything he touches and every word he says. I love all his looks, and all his actions and him entirely and all together."

3. Flowers. Seriously, fresh flowers bring me an unexplainable amount of joy. My husband always says if he had an unlimited supply of money, he'd wear brand new socks every. Me? I'd want fresh flowers brightening up every room of my house.

4. I have a serious case of Wanderlust, and am constantly dreaming of travel. Luckily, I married a man who feels the same way and we've had some amazing adventures together.

5. Food. I love food. Really good food, and sometimes not-so-great food. I'm particularly fond of good (greasy) Mexican food and the salsa that accompanies it, pretty much anything from Pizzeria 712, goooood chocolate, and my current favorite indulgence - macaroons …

What are a few things you're loving?

With Rapture: Day Two

Thursday, May 30, 2013

I've been MIA, enjoying some family time on a fun-filled vacation in Virginia (by the way, my theory on the saying "Virginia is for Lovers" is because it is sooooo overwhelmingly beautiful. Someone please hire me to photograph their wedding there. Thank you.) So to make up for lost time, I thought I'd share some beautiful images from the workshop I attended recently.

My Family by Kale Fitch

I always tell my littles that they are my happy. And my husband is the rock that holds us together. I am who I am because of these three people, I love them to the moon and back a million times over. And this is why I am forever grateful to the brilliant Kale Fitch for capturing us as this stage in our lives. Here's a glimpse into my sweet family:

Everyone should have the chance to be filmed by Kale, and brides especially check out his wedding videos ... to die for.

Moving

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

I'm moving. In one month we are closing on our new house, as well as closing on our current house. And a word of advice? If you ever decide to sell your house and move, try to avoid doing so during the holidays. Because moving is messy business, even if it is just a few miles south. Throw in a week-long Christmas stay at my parents cabin and an almost-week-long trip to Disneyland in the middle and you're just asking for madness. Luckily, I'm one of those odd sorts that thrives under pressure and deadlines, bring it on! In this case, it helps me to not focus on the fact that I'm leaving my house, the home to which I brought my babies home from the hospital. Where we became a family of three, then four. Where adorable things like this happen on a daily basis.
