This right here is one lucky couple. They were the proud winners of the January Thanksgiving Point Wedding Expo grand prize giveaway, which included a photo pass to Thanksgiving Point and a bridal session with me! Along, of course, with a plethora of other fantastic prizes. We opted to wait until the weather was perfect and the flowers were in full bloom at the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. It was absolutely beautiful and I'm so happy for Brighton and Brett!

I've known this girl since, well, since we were both young (I was in Jr High ... she was even younger) and I can't believe she's getting married NEXT WEEK! I am sooooo honored to be her wedding photographer and can't wait for her wedding. We had so much fun taking these bridals at the Timpanogos Temple, it was the most gorgeous evening.

January 2012 Wedding Expo

That. Was. So. Much. FUN!!! No really, hanging with my husband all day, talking about how much I love my job and showing off my work. Seriously, I loved it. I loved meeting all the darling brides, cute couples, and supportive family members in attendance at the wedding expo. And because I'm feelin' the love, I'd like to extend my wedding expo offer. Brides and grooms, mark your calenders! The Utah Wedding Expo at Thanksgiving Point is just around the corner and I promise you're going to want to be there. Why? Well where else are you going to find all the wedding vendors you're going to need (including ME!) for your big day? And I'll let you in on a little secret, the deal I'm offering for booking Jessie Alexis Photography at the wedding expo is pretty amazing. Trust.

A humongous thank-you to those who helped out with my booth, particularly my rockin' mom and her muscles for helping me load in and set up everything, and my charming husband who spent all day chatting with brides and their grooms/moms/friends/etc. All in all, I had a blast!

If you're planning a wedding, this is the place to be. In fact, when I was engaged I pretty much planned my entire wedding through expos. I met Ashley at the Thanksgiving Point Wedding Expo in April and was beyond thrilled when she hired me on the spot. I'll post more from their session later, but here's a little preview:

It's Show Time!

Saturday, April 17th from 10am-6pm at the Thanksgving Point Show Barn

This Saturday is a big day, it's the Thanksgiving Point Wedding Expo, and I'll be there! And if you're a bride (or groom) planning a wedding, you should be there too. Why?

1. Great door prizes from every vendor

2. Free food ... there are usually caterers there letting you sample their goods. And folks, I'm a sucker for free food so this one's a biggie.

3. Wedding show discounts are offered by a lot of the vendors just for mentioning you met them at the show, including me!

But don't just come, come prepared. You will be bombarded with information by people dying to be a part of your wedding day. Bring a pen to write down your initial thoughts on the back of their handouts, that way when you get home you'll be able to remember why you liked (or didn't like) a certain vendor.

As a newly engaged couple, my husband and I attended this same wedding expo and found some of our favorite wedding vendors here. It made planning a wedding a breeze and we both whole-heartily recommend that all brides attend.

Happy New Year!

As I type this, I should be finishing packing and getting ready to run out the door to catch a flight to Arizona. My husband and I are spending the weekend with his wonderful family and I'll be taking some time to shoot a quick engagement session. I have loved 2009 and all the wonderful things it has brought me both personally and professionally. I'm looking forward to an even more exciting 2010!
