Jessi + Weston: Wedding

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Can you even believe this crazy cold, wet weather we're having!? It's nuts! I hear rumor there's even snow in the mountains already. I'm really not OK with this coldness, but I guess the only thing I can do about it is change my attitude. Luckily, the weather for Jessi and Weston's wedding was nothing but blue skies and sunshine. But even if it had been cold and raining, it wouldn't have mattered because Jessi and Weston would have been too wrapped up in their contagious happiness to care! I adore these two and am tickled that I got to be a part of their big day.

Dress: David's Bridal
Flowers: Flowers on Main
Venue: My Noah's, Lindon

Only 86 more days until Christmas? And because no one wants to be stressed trying to get everything done last minute, I'm offering a family photo special starting now and running through November. Schedule a family session any time between now and Nov. 30 and receive your disk (with edited photos) and an 8x10 at no extra charge. This is a $110 value, so move fast! Call me at 801-602-9544 or e-mail me to get your session booked today.

Also, if I can get enough families in the Mesa, Arizona area who are interested in having their family pictures taken I can work out a time to come down there for a family picture taking extravaganza. Sooooo, let me know!

I heart photography

Monday, September 28, 2009

I adore taking pictures. I always have. I can't remember ever wanting a Christmas present more than the year I begged and begged for a camera. And not just any camera, and Canon Rebel 2000. Except for the year(s) I asked Santa for the Samantha doll, which American Doll has now discontinued (an in the processes, shattered my dreams of ever owning all her dresses, sob!) Anyway, back to photography. My love for photography extends beyond weddings, senior portraits and family photos. I got started in the business as a photojournalist for a newspaper. Capturing the moment, stopping time and preserving history in a single shot is why I got started in this business.

Knowing my love for photography and my collection of fine art photos building up on my hardrive, my dad clipped an ad out of his newspaper and gave it to me. MediaOne is looking for the best photos of Utah to be published in a coffee-table book. I've submitted some photos and would really love your help in voting for them. Photos that acheive a high score (by vote) and editor's selections will be published in the book. So, I'm asking that you all take a moment today and go vote for me, it would really mean a lot!

And fear not, despite my full week blogging break, I'm back full force and have a ton of sweet photos to share with you.

Melissa + Fernando: Wedding Day

Monday, September 14, 2009

Melissa and Fernando are one of the sweetest couples. I found myself blinking back tears a couple of times during their reception. Their love for each other is so evident, and so contagious. Being able to be involved in their wedding day was a sweet opportunity. Congratulations Melissa and Fernando!

Teeny + Landon: Wedding

Thursday, September 10, 2009

I meet Teeny at the Utah Wedding Expo in March, and when she called me and asked if I'd shoot her wedding, I did a little happy dance. When we met, she excitedly described to me her vision for her wedding day, a full blown party complete with cotton candy, popcorn and a squirt gun send-off. The day was even more thrilling than she'd described, and being there to photograph it was truly an honor. Teeny and Landon, I adore you guys. Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of your big day!
